To celebrate and promote innovative research, Baxter sponsors an annual award program. Baxter China Young Investigator Awards seek to stimulate and reward research applicable to the development of therapies and medical products that save and sustain patients' lives. The awards program consists of two tiers; first tier awards include a 10,000CNY cash prize and an onsite visit to present the award-winning research. Second tier awards will receive a 4,000CNY cash prize.
In 2019, the scope of the Baxter China Young Investigator Awards is expanded by including nurses in addition to young medical doctors, graduate students and post-graduates. The field of research is also expanded to include Digital Health in addition to Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Medical Device Engineering.
Scope, Criteria & Eligibility
All applicants must be currently enrolled full-time graduate students or postdoctoral fellows and must be primarily responsible for the research described. The research should be focused on technical areas, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical Device Engineering, Digital Health.
All nurses or MDs must be primarily responsible for the research described in their application and are not more than 40 years old. Competitive applicants will describe their innovative research in Intensive Care, Anesthesia, Nephrology area when submitting their applications.
All applicants must be Baxter Suzhou R&D scientists and engineers (≤5 years working experience). The research should be focused on technical areas, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical Device Engineering;
The research must be completed or nearly completed, and the research results must be supported by a large amount of data and simulation experiments. If there are multiple participants in the research, the applicants need to clearly describe the significant roles of all participants.
Details & Conditions
Some content may be made public through Baxter's website or through other avenues. All successful applicants must commit to briefly presenting their results at the annual Young Investigator Awards ceremony. The ceremony is to be held in December 2019 at Baxter's R&D facility located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China, when first tier winners will be invited. Baxter will cover the non-Baxter employee’s transportation cost of the awards ceremony, as well as the cost of accommodations for the nights before and after the ceremony for those traveling from outside the Suzhou area.
